Urban and streetscape design

Inspired by his close study of the city and waterfront revitalization projects in Barcelona and Seville for the 1992 Olympics and World Fair, Scott Torrance has a deep passion for the design of urban space.


A well designed streetscape is integral to the vitality of a community, promoting pedestrian activity, reducing crime and enhancing appreciation of the character of the location. Scott Torrance's experience creating streetscapes focuses on several key ideas, including:

  • creating and maintaing a connection to the natural environment
  • collaborating closely with artists to include public art elements
  • ensuring the end result is beautiful, enjoyable and functional
