Senior Landscape Architect


Lei-ChangLei is a registered landscape architect with a Bachelor of Architecture from Nanjing University of Technology in Nanjing, China and an Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. in 2007, she worked at Sasaki in Boston on the Singapore Botanical Garden international competition (with MVRDV) and the Cincinnati Waterfront project. As a result of her deeply varied experience, Lei brings a creative, professional approach to her projects, ensuring that each project elegantly resolves problems, innovates new possibilities, and runs smoothly from concept to construction.

Lei has a wide range of experience with transit design and has worked on several TTC expansion projects, including Emergency Exit Buildings at Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension and Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown LRT. She worked on Victoria Park Modernization and Replacement of Victoria Park Bus Terminal project, recently awarded a National Urban Design Award, in addition to several other awards. Lei has worked on a number of public realm design projects including Victoria Park intersections, Shaughnessy Boulevard streetscape, and the award-winning West Toronto Railpath. She has extensive park and open space design expertise resulting from work on Parc Downsview Park’s Sustainable Parking Lot and Entrance Design, and L’Amoreaux Park Master Plan.
