Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc.’s garden atop Market Wharf*, a condo building located in downtown Toronto, was featured in the Globe and Mail article, “The right way to build an eco-friendly house (hint: keep it simple)“, by Alex Bozikovic.
The article discussed ways to create an eco-friendly home, and Scott explained how a proper “green” garden can be created easily and effectively using native plants and an understanding of specific water conditions, sun and shade.
Not only does a well-thought out garden have an environmental effect (keeping rainwater out of city storm sewers, for example), it has a psychological effect, as well, helping to connect people to their natural environment. Read the article and learn how others are creating eco-friendly homes here.
